Proposing that the next design nights should be Tuesday 19th June & Wednesday 20th June, Project is a Simple summer wrapover skirt. Ideally a light woven cotton fabric, prints are fine if they are small - try to stay away from anything that needs to be matched up like a check pattern. You will need 1.5metres of fabric approx, some pretty ribbon (2metres) and you can use some buttons or alternative for decoration. If you want to come along, please message me and let me know which night you can make. Please also email me with your measurements (latest date to email measurements wed 13th june) so I can ensure we have the right pattern (need waist measurement, then approx 5 cm down from that take your lower waist measurement, hip, waist point to hip and waist to knee. Looking forward to seeing you all soon, love Claire x

The design night was a great evening, brilliant fun with the girls induldging in design, chat & wine. A few new girls (Claire Cowleytried the design night to see if they liked it and despite finding the fabrics interesting to work with they loved it and want to come again, yay ! It was a little crazy to begin with as we hoped to have everyone here for 7 to be ready to start assembly of the top at 7.30 but with one thing and another it didn't happen that way, but we got there in the end. So much for finishing at 9.30pm though, some left at 10.30pm but a few of us accidently sewed til 12.15am ! all Great fun.
We were making a simple spaghetti strap top for the summer, some used woven fabrics (cute summer cottons - I used a skirt I bought after loving the quirky fabric and cut it up to use) and some used jersey fabrics. Was lovely to see the tops come together and the girls looked great. A few of the girls brought along things they had designed to show everyone else. Gina Craggs is very skilled in working with fibres & was showing us her new weaving rods and what they can do. Then she showed us some of her crochet toys which are very sought after her, have included one pic on here. Celine Pailard showed off some beautiful hand embroidery that she learned how to create recently. She also brought along some gorgeous books with patterns. We all fell in love with the great bag she made and we are hoping to make this at one of the future design nights, I'll transfer the pattern so everyone has a copy and can cut out the pattern / fabric before the night. If anyone would like to do this bag at home on the design night, or here in person, please contact me and I'll add you to the list of people to invite. Hayley Taylor of SmileyMiley Designs came along to the design night too as she is still on Maternity leave. It was lovely to have her with us and we all bounced ideas off each other. (www.smileymileydesign.co.uk) Stella Jones was brave enough to entertain the idea of joining us for our design night using Skype. It was so lovely to have her with us and made for a fun night. It was a little hard for Stella to hear and see everything but luckily enough I'd thought to do a step by step guide of how to makethe spaghetti strap top and uploaded it onto my facebook design page. If anyone would like to come to a design night and make this please contact me as we will be doing it again in a few months. Well, I will put the rest of the pics on my other page and head off to do some more boyswear - so excited by the fabrics and my boys are super excited at the thought of having some funky shirts to wear. Hope you all have a great weekend, Claire x My fab new secret agent coat pattern for the boys - Logan's already put in a request for me to design the lining & add in secret pockets ! Carter is trying to add in his design input to - so cute ! They have both drawn out their design ideaBought from a fab sellerislandnw off ebay (based in america but so fast :) and brilliantly packaged)

The alternative to a poker night accompanied by a nice glass of vino or a cocktail or two. Think book club meets project catwalk.
