About Me

With over 20years experience working in the Fashion Industry my passion for design has never faltered.   I started out working for several designers whilst studying Fashion Design at Cardonald college, Glasgow and at The Scottish College of Textiles, Galashiels (part of Heriott Watt University Edinburgh).

I went on to work as a Garment Technologist for key high street suppliers and retailers working with brands such as Fila, Vans, Ping, Mitre, Perry Ellis, George @ Asda, Next and Tesco creating products in Menswear, Womenswear but specialising in childrenswear.

I expanded my design skills by working for the workwear company Alexandra Textiles before diversifying into Product Techology for WHSmith head office in Swindon.

I am fully trained in Fashion Design but my specialism lies in Pattern Drafting, Technical specification writing and Commercial design production.   I am fully qualified in CAD using Lectra / Gerber systems.

I have taught Design and Technology to secondary school children for 16months and absolutely loved it.   I would dearly love to set up a design class for children of all ages as I know first hand both professionally, and as a mother, how beneficial these skills are.   For now I simply volunteer my skills in my children's schools.

I currently work as a Freelance Garment Technologist / Product Designer and I teach clients sewing & pattern cutting in my home design studio, alongside being a full time mother.   I also work as a Holistic Massage Therapist & Meditation Coach and a Business Mentor.

Please note I am currently taking some time out for Maternity leave after having my third child in March, I will update the facebook group page when I am back to work.   In the meantime I hope to be able to upload video tutorials in the near future.
